Pathways to Tech

How to Navigate Your CS Journey

EVENT INTRODUCTION

DATE: Thursday, November 18, 2021

TIME: 4:30 PM PT or 7:30 PM ET

There is no single path to a meaningful career in software engineering. Join us on November 18 and hear from a panel of tech industry leaders (who are also CodePath's instructors) on their personal journeys in tech, how they navigate the field's competitiveness, and what resources they recommend for computer science students looking to gain a foothold in the industry. While CodePath's instructors all have vastly different career journeys, they all have one thing in common: the commitment to pass on their knowledge and wisdom to the next generation of software engineers.

Some topics we will cover:

  • How to land your first role in software engineering
  • What tech excellence looks like
  • Whether to specialize or keep a generalist skillset
  • How to navigate career changes
  • How to overcome imposter syndrome
  • What resources you should leverage to empower your career growth
